THE SCOTT-FOX METHOD FOR FORMATIVE DEVELOPMENT
IN PUPPIES IS
REVOLUTIONARY.

According to the experts, it's fine to take your puppy out of the house during the formative period.

The formative period is from ages 2 to 4 months. This is the most important time in your dog’s development. And it is the best time to prevent most of the common behavioral problems that people encounter while raising their puppies. It is also the ideal stage for you to create a strong bond with your young pup.

A SCOTT-FOX INNOVATION
Puppy Preschool is the new innovative way to ensure your puppy is well-socialized in their critical time of development.
Our spa-like facility will provide an enriching, safe haven for your puppy to learn and grow. See Puppy Preschool Activities

THE STAFF
The Scott-Fox Puppy Preschool has a dedicated, well-trained staff, as well as visitors of all ages who will work and play with your pup. We also have our staff dogs,  All play and enrichment activities are carefully monitored and analyzed for the most diverse and enjoyable socialization for each individual puppy.

TOYS & GAMES
All Preschool puppies will have time to interact with toys and play games in group and individualized settings.

NAPS & QUIET TIME
Healthy puppies need their sleep! Scott-Fox Puppy Preschool has a daily schedule, which includes nap times.
CRATES & PENS
In order to provide a safe, clean environment, each puppy will be assigned his or her own crate or ex-pen, complete with bedding and enrichment toys.  Two puppies at one time can play together in a large open exercise area for socialization with other puppies and are monitored by a staff member.  Play behavior will be monitored and noted to help guide companion diversity and enjoyment with each individual puppy.
GROOMING
All staff members of the Scott-Fox Puppy Preschool have been trained for handling puppies; All puppies will be exposed to handling and brushing —another aspect of our daily routine.

“The primary and most important time for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. For this reason it should be the standard of care for puppies to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated.1"
“Socialization means exposure to as many new people, animals, stimuli and environment."

“Every effort should be made to expose them to as many different people, well-socialized animals, situations & places.”

“Puppies should be encouraged to explore, investigate and manipulate their environments.
”

"Time must be scheduled for puppies to play alone with their favorite toy or take naps in safe places such as crates or puppy pens teaching them to amuse themselves and prevent over attachment to their owners."

“Proper confinement training using crates and pens helps to ensure that puppies have safe and secure places for rest.  Puppies that are used to being crated will be less stressed.”

"Puppy owners, veterinarians, trainers and behaviorists have a responsibility to assist in providing these learning/socialization experiences with other puppies/dogs, with children/adults and with various environmental situations during this optimal period from birth to 16 weeks."

"Many veterinarians recommend that new owners take their puppies to puppy socialization classes, beginning at 8 to 9 weeks of age. At this age they should have (and can be required to have) received a minimum of their first series of vaccines for protection against infectious diseases."

Dr. Anderson has reports from thousands of puppies that have attended his puppy classes as well as those of several other behaviorists that show that puppies as young as 8 – 12 weeks of age can attend socialization classes with very little risk of disease, if proper care is taken.
